The day everyone was waiting for had finally arrived. Qatar held a very impressive opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2022, and I have never seen such a great FIFA World Cup ceremony. But the day did not end well for the hosts Qatar as they lost in the first match.
The Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar where the opening ceremony was held was really nice and huge. From the outside, it looks like a large traditional Arab tent, which also has cultural significance in Qatar. The fans in the stadium were also given some souvenirs which included a t-shirt, a scarf, perfume and some other items.
After the opening ceremony, the match started. There are usually some problems in the first match. Yesterday also it happened that the Wi-Fi in the press enclosure was getting disrupted.
The first match was entertaining, but Qatar did not give a promising performance. In the history of the FIFA World Cup, Qatar has become the first host nation to lose the opening match. Qatar may not like this because the Qatari government has spent a lot of money to bring the World Cup here.
Al Bayt Stadium is some distance from Doha, so consider it as being located in another city. When people reached the media center of the stadium after the match, the food had run out. Therefore, they first reached the central media center at 12 pm and then went out in search of food. The good thing is that in Doha you can get food even till 2, 3 am.
Those who are living far away from Qatar’s barren lands can watch the full opening ceremony here.
