Four Teams That Qualify for the Semi-Final

After the sensational matches in the T20 World Cup, the teams of Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and England finally reached the semi-finals, but the situation of ifs and buts remained until the last moment.

After the sensational matches in the T20 World Cup, the teams of Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and England finally reached the semi-finals, but the situation of ifs and buts remained until the last moment.

New Zealand and England from Group One, while Pakistan and India from Group Two made it to the Final 4, highlighting the journey of the World Cup semi-finalists.

Cricket fans made interesting comments and made good memes on social media calling the Pakistan team’s arrival in the semi-finals in Group Two a ‘miracle’.

In the first match played in Melbourne on October 28, Pakistan was defeated by India in a thrilling contest, but the fans were confident that the Pakistani team would definitely reach the semi-finals as they fought and lost.

But Pakistan’s unexpected loss to Zimbabwe in the second match raised alarm bells as Pakistan had lost both matches.

Pakistan defeated the Netherlands in the third match, but the Pakistani fans were disappointed and criticized that Pakistan should have achieved the target of 92 runs in 10 overs against the lesser team, drawing the match.

Pakistan had an important victory against South Africa in the fourth match, but Pakistan had only 4 points after playing 4 matches, while South Africa had five points and India also had five points, but India had 2 and South Africa had one match against the Netherlands.

Now the talk of Pakistan reaching the semi-finals had come to a miracle, if South Africa, the Netherlands, and India had defeated Zimbabwe, then India would have had 8 points and South Africa would have had 7 points, thus Pakistan would have won the last match. It would have been 6 points, but Pakistan could not make it to the final 4.

As the Netherlands had upset South Africa, now Pakistan had a chance to beat Bangladesh to reach the final four, and so Pakistan beat Bangladesh and advanced to the semis with 6 points.

However, Pakistan is the only team that has made it to the final four despite losing 2 matches, while the other teams have only lost one match each.

It should be noted that the Netherlands have secured the fourth position on the points table, thus qualifying for the next T20 World Cup to be held in 2024.

In Group Two, India was declared as the favorite to win the World Cup by experts and fans from the beginning, India did not face any problems to reach the semi-finals.

India was beaten only by South Africa, India won 4 out of 5 matches and easily reached the semi-finals with a maximum of 8 points.

The situation was also very interesting in Group One, where the main competition to reach the final 4 was between New Zealand, the defending champions Australia and the England cricket team, which is considered as the favorite to win the title.

In Group One, one match of these three teams was rained out, due to which the situation became more complicated. In this group, the last day also happened when England defeated Sri Lanka and got 7 points to Australia.

Australia also got 7 points from 5 matches with 3 wins and 1 draw but they could not reach the semi-finals due to a low run rate.

New Zealand also got 7 points in Group One but their run rate is much higher than both of them, they did not face any problem in reaching the final four.
