In less than two years since its premiere in September 2020, Kia has reported that its Sonet compact crossover has sold more than 150,000 units in India.
According to the South Korean automaker, Kia Sonet, which has a 32 percent market share in India, is responsible for approximately one-third of the brand’s overall sales.
26 percent of clients preferred to purchase the premium variants of the Sonet, according to Kia India. In the fiercely competitive compact crossover sector, where competitors include the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, and Toyota Urban Cruiser, the automaker also asserted that it has captured a 15% market share.
The Sonet crossover, Kia’s second offering in India after the Seltos, is also the brand’s second-best-selling vehicle.
Remember that India is where Seltos and Sonnet made their debuts on the world stage. Myung-Sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, commented on the sales milestone by saying that modern urban Indian clients are energetic, tech-savvy, and daring, and Sonet is the ideal product for them.
