MG Javed Afridi, Pakistan’s poster boy, is back with another update on MG 3. For the past few years, the much-anticipated hatchback has been the talk of the town.
When Javed Afridi revealed that MG will launch this automobile for less than Rs. 2 million, it caused a stir among petrol heads. Since then, there has been no news regarding the car, aside from Afridi asking customers to guess the price of the car three times.
Now, during a Facebook question and answer session, he has updated MG fans on the car once more. “As promised, it will arrive in Pakistan with a new version,” he said in response to a question on the MG 3.
Afridi, on the other hand, has no indication of when the MG 3 would be released in Pakistan. So, once again, the answer is uncertain, and we must continue to wait. Due to the current state of the auto industry, it would be difficult for MG Pakistan to market this automobile for less than Rs. 2 million.
The dollar is constantly rising, freight costs are at all-time highs, raw materials are prohibitively expensive, and oil prices are out of control, so releasing a car in this price range will be difficult.
It would only be conceivable if MG released it as a locally assembled vehicle, but we have yet to see an MG CKD unit.
During the same A&Q session, Afridi claimed that locally produced MG cars would be available next month.
So let’s wait and see what happens, hoping for the best. Meanwhile, these are the most important specifications and characteristics of the MG 3.
