Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has proposed to expand the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) between the three countries, China, Pakistan, and Turkey so that the three countries can take advantage of its potential.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of PNS Badar, the third naval class corvette of the Pakistan Navy at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works, Shehbaz Sharif said that the ship was launched at Karachi Shipyard in collaboration with MS Isfat of Turkey.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day visit. He said that we can move forward by promoting trade and industrial activities, adding that the CPEC project is very important for promoting regional connectivity and Gwadar is becoming its hub.
“Taking advantage of this opportunity, I would like to propose the expansion of CPEC to three countries. We extend the benefit of its vast potential to our countries,” he said.
The Prime Minister began his speech by congratulating the Turkish company on the success of the ship. He also lauded the efforts of Pakistan Navy Chief Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi and Turkish Defense Minister Holosi Akar.
He said that PNS Badar is the best example of a partnership between Pakistan and Turkey. Turkish relations have begun to reach new heights. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a brother and friend of Pakistan and a strong supporter of the Pakistan cause.
Shahbaz Sharif said that people would see stability in relations from shipbuilding and transport to all sectors of public health, adding that bilateral fraternal relations would be further strengthened which would benefit Pakistan and Turkey.
Referring to today’s inauguration, he said that shipbuilding was a great achievement of both the countries and cooperation between the Pakistan Navy and Turkish companies would further strengthen our relations and we would benefit from Turkey’s expertise and technology.
The Prime Minister again lauded the Chief of Naval Staff and his team, saying that Pakistan has a long coastline, while the center of maritime activities is Karachi port.
In his video message on the occasion, the Turkish President said that his country wanted to share its expertise with Pakistan’s defense sector, the Muljam project being an example of this.
He said that Pakistan was located at a strategic location in South Asia and the people of Turkey valued Pakistan and its people.
He said that despite the Corona, there was no delay in the preparation of the ship and the Muljam project was completed on time.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that this aircraft is equipped with modern weapons and sensors. He hoped for further strengthening of ties between the two countries.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Turkish Defense Minister said that the construction of the aircraft would be beneficial for the Pakistani forces and would contribute to peace and stability in the region and around the world.
“I am confident that we will play our part in increasing the number of such projects, which are key to the security and technological independence of both countries,” he said.
He said that under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey has taken important steps in almost every field, especially in the defense industry. “We are ready to share our experiences and defense products with our friends and partners,” he said.
The Turkish Defense Minister said that the Pakistani people have an important place in the hearts of the Turkish people and if we can strengthen and benefit from the fraternal relations between the two countries we will continue our efforts to take the relations to new heights.
Hollis Akar further said that these ships would further enhance the friendly relations between the two countries, naval power to Pakistan Navy, brotherhood and cooperation.
