In a special address to the nation on Monday, the Prime Minister said that while talking exclusively on the country’s foreign policy, he said that he had recently made two visits, one to China and the other to Russia.

He said that the situation in the world was changing rapidly and it was affecting Pakistan.

“Ever since I started politics, I have always wanted Pakistan’s foreign policy to be independent. An independent foreign policy means that the nation should formulate a foreign policy for the benefit of its people and not make a policy that does something for the benefit of others and harm your own country.

“When we took part in the US war on terror, I used to say from the beginning that we had nothing to do with this war. No Pakistani was involved in 9/11,” he said.

Imran Khan said that we first participated in the US war against the Soviet Union and when we participated again after 10 years it was the first jihad but when the US came to Afghanistan it called it terrorism.

He said that due to this war 80,000 Pakistanis were martyred, 3.5 million people were displaced, tribal areas were destroyed, the country lost more than 150 billion dollars but the most shameful thing in the history of the world. For the first time, a country was fighting in support of someone and that country was bombing that country.

He said that more than 400 drone strikes were carried out in our country, only 10 drone strikes were carried out under General Musharraf but the two democratic leaders Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif came and in their 10 years 400 drone strikes were carried out.

The Prime Minister said that if there was an independent foreign policy, these two leaders should have told America that our children, women, and innocent people are dying from your bombing, so shouldn’t the two democratic leaders have taken a stand on it at that time? He did not even make a statement on it but the American journalist wrote in his book that Asif Zardari told the US Army Chief that he did not care about the collateral damage in the drone strikes.

He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture and that his confession had been obtained through torture. Therefore, the policy of our country cannot be free.

He conveyed a message to the nation that if you want an independent foreign policy in this country, never vote for a party whose money, wealth, and property are outside Pakistan because they will never formulate an independent foreign policy.

Imran Khan said that in all the visits I made, including two important visits to China, our country was honored and time will prove that we had great talks in both Chebin and Russia.

Explaining his visit to Russia, he said that we had to go to Russia because we have to import 2 million tons of wheat from Russia and the other important thing is that Russia is the country in the world which has 30% of the world’s gas In view of the shortage of gas, we have entered into gas agreements with them and we will import gas from them.

A comparative analysis of inflation

He said Canada had the highest inflation rate in 30 years, Britain had the highest inflation rate since 1992 and Turkey had the highest inflation rate in 20 years.

On this occasion, he presented the statistics of the previous governments regarding inflation and said that in the first term of PPP, the inflation has been 13.9%, in the second term of the two-year government, 8.34%, in the third term. Inflation rose to 11.6 percent and 13.6 percent in the fourth quarter.

Imran Khan said that in the first term of the Muslim League inflation was 10.08%, in the second term it was 7.2% and in the third term, it was 5%.

He said that due to Corona, the crisis in Afghanistan came with inflation all over the world, and now Ukraine has come. In these difficult times, Pakistan’s growth rate was 5.6 percent. It was in the last period of PML-N when The position reached by the deficit and borrowing was 5.6% in the third year of the PTI and this is not us but the World Bank is confirming it.

“We received $ 31 billion in remittances, we exported the most $ 38 billion in Pakistan’s history, our tax collection capacity increased by 31% despite Corona,” he said.

Reduction In Petrol Price

“We understand that global oil and other commodity prices have skyrocketed, they will start to come down now, but what has been going on inside Ukraine and the war is going on, now I am afraid and We also advised that prices will not come down now.

He said that if this war takes place then the price of oil will also go up, then if 30% of the world’s gas comes from there then the price of gas will also go up.

“We have told Russia that we need 2 million tons of wheat, but now the price of wheat will go up,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that we have made a decision that the biggest problem in the country at present is petrol and diesel.

He said that even today petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan, when the opposition says petrol and diesel have become expensive, tell me what solution they have.

He said that we have to import from abroad, now oil will go up so what should we do about it, if they have any solution then tell us because even now Pakistan is ranked 25th out of 190 countries in the world. But where petrol and diesel sell the least.

Comparing the prices of petrol with other countries, he said that at present petrol is Rs 160 per liter in Pakistan, Rs 260 per liter in India, Rs 185 per liter in Bangladesh, and Rs 200 per liter in Turkey.

“If we give a subsidy of Rs 70 billion every month, if the government does not give this subsidy, then today the price of petrol will be Rs 220 per liter,” he said.

He said that he had received a summary of OGRA. He said that petrol and diesel would have to be increased by Rs. 10 per liter because oil has become more expensive in the world.

The Prime Minister said that today I would like to convey to you the great good news that instead of increasing Rs 10, we have decided to reduce petrol and diesel by Rs 10.

“Electricity is also made from imported fuels. As soon as gas, coal, and oil are expensive abroad or our fuel adjustment is charged, the price goes up, but we decided to save our people from it,” he said.

He said that if we had built dams, Pakistan would have got very cheap electricity because the electricity generated from water does not matter to us whether there is inflation or not but in 50 years no dam has been built in Pakistan.

He said that we are building 10 dams in Pakistan and in the next 5 to 10 years all these dams will be built and even if the prices go up, we will avoid it.
The Prime Minister said that we have decided to reduce electricity by Rs. 5 per unit, which means that your electricity bills will be reduced by 20% to 50%.

He said that we have worked hard for this and got the subsidy out of space because the biggest problem of the people is electricity and petrol and because of this things become expensive.

The Prime Minister said that under the Ehsas program we used to pay Rs. 12,000 but now we have increased it to Rs. 14,000.

He said that it has been decided to provide internships to the youths who have done BA and do not have any job and will provide an internship of Rs. 30,000 to the graduates so that they can get money.

Regarding scholarships, he said that we are giving 2.6 million scholarships in the federation and its subordinate provinces and we are spending Rs. 38 billion for this.

He said that all control will be on the portal of the Prime Minister, all will be on merit, we will check it ourselves and a committee of experts has been formed on it. If anyone has any problem, he will come to this portal.

Imran Khan also announced incentives for the information technology sector saying that we have given them 100% tax exemption and 100% exemption on foreign exchange.
