In September, Apple is expected to unveil four new iPhone 14 models, and analyst Jeff Pu has set his expectations for the devices ahead of time.

According to a research note received by MacRumors from Haitong International Securities, all iPhone 14 models will feature ProMotion displays, as opposed to only Pro models today.

When watching the video, gaming, or scrolling, ProMotion allows for a customizable refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smoother-looking content.

Pu earlier stated that iPhone 14 Pro versions will have 8GB of RAM, but after doing a “supply chain check,” he now expects all four iPhone 14 models to have 6GB of RAM due to cost concerns.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, iPhone 14 Pro models will include a 48-megapixel main camera upgrade.

He also claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro will have 256GB of storage as standard, up from 128GB. He anticipates regular iPhone 14 models to start with 64GB of storage, which is a bit surprising.

In reality, not just the two Pro variants, but all four iPhone 14 models are believed to have 120 Hz screens (as is currently the case in the iPhone 13 generation).

Not only that, but each of the four iPhone 14 variants will have the same amount of RAM 6GB. This is also in contrast to the current situation, in which the iPhone 13 small and iPhone 13 both have 4GB of storage, although the Pro and Pro Max both have 6GB.

Previously, Pu stated that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will increase this to 8GB, but this does not appear to be the case. The shift in strategy was caused by economic considerations, according to a “supply chain check.”

In 2022, iPhone sizes will change, and the 5.4-inch iPhone mini will be phased out. Following disappointing sales, Apple is expected to focus on larger iPhone sizes, with a 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max on the horizon.

The camera on new iPhones is always improved, and the iPhone 14 is no exception. The Ultra-Wide camera will be improved, and there’s a chance Apple could introduce a “periscope” zoom lens that allows for even larger optical magnification, but it’s unclear whether this will happen in 2022 or 2023.

The iPhone Pro models may also have 48-megapixel cameras and 8K video recording.

The Snapdragon X65 processor, which is the first 10-gigabit 5G modem with better communication rates and improved connectivity, is expected to be used by Apple.

Along with the X65, Apple is likely to unveil new satellite-based emergency features that will allow users to send texts in an emergency and report accidents even if they are not connected to the internet.
