Regal Automobiles is one of the leading manufacturers of motorbikes in Pakistan which entered the auto market last year. After introducing a hatchback and an SUV, the company is now planning to launch electric vehicles in Pakistan.

Regal Automobiles has applied for listing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) for allegedly raising Rs 800 million to set up an electric vehicle assembly plant in the country. The company has named Arif Habib Limited (AHL), Pakistan’s largest securities brokerage, investment banking, and research firm, as its book runner.

Regal Electric Vehicle Assembly Plant

Regal Automobiles intends to use the funds raised from the stock exchange to invest in an electric vehicle assembly plant. The plant will be set up on 3 acres of land at Multan Road, Manga Mandi, Lahore. The company has signed an agreement with a special supplier of DFSK Motors from China to import machinery for the assembly of electric vehicles.

The company has made an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs. 800 million. Any additional funds can also be used for EV plant expansion.

Regal Automobiles manufactures and sells cars under the brand name Prince DFSK. The company has presented the 800cc hatchback Prince Pearl and crossover SUV DFSK Glory 580Pro and 580. Techburaq also heard that the company is planning to launch a small crossover DFSK Glory 500 very soon.

Regal Automobiles has a long and illustrious history

Regal was designated as a Green Field Industrial Undertaking under the Automotive Development Policy on July 5, 2017, allowing the company to take advantage of perks such as reduced import duties on equipment and machinery for vehicle assembly.

Regal signed a CKD Cooperation Agreement with DFSK Motor Co. Ltd. in September 2016, under which Regal imports CKDs of the Glory 580, K01, and K07 for local assembly at the facility, as well as CBUs of the C-37 for sale in Pakistan. The CKD kits and spare parts are imported by Regal from DFSK’s sole source.

Regal is a US-based Auto Company established in 1907. Its famous models are the 1985 Buick Regal Coupé, the 1985 Buick Regal Sedan, and Buick regal Station wagon, Buick Regal Coupe 1986, Buick Regal 1997, Buick Regal 2000, Buick Regal 20221, Buick Regal 2002, Buick Regal 2003, Buick Regal 2013, and Buick Regal 2014.

The production and selling of vehicles through authorized dealerships is what keeps Regal afloat. The SUV (Glory 580 Pro Turbo) is the company’s main source of revenue, accounting for 55.6 percent of total sales in FY2021, which totaled Rs. 3.288 billion.

The second source of revenue is the selling of Hatchbacks under the Prince Pearl brand, which accounted for 31.7 percent of the entire revenue stream in FY2021, or Rs. 1.878 billion.
