More than 3.7 million people have so far registered with the Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP), bringing the total number of complaints received to over 4.2 million.
According to Dawn newspaper, Pakistan Citizen Portal was inaugurated in the year 2018
According to the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit (PMDU), 45% of the citizens are satisfied with the performance of the portal.
He said that one of the beneficiaries of Citizen Portal is Goody Bibi, a retired sanitary worker from a women’s university in Rawalpindi, who received a reply within 24 hours of lodging a complaint.
A PMDU senior official told the newspaper that Goody BB, 61, had retired from the university last year but had not been paid her dues a year later.
He lodged a complaint with the PCP on Thursday, after which the portal took up the matter with the university administration.
The PMDU official said the administration claimed that the woman’s appointment was illegal and therefore she was not eligible for any relief.
However, the PCP questioned why he was allowed to work for 32 years if his appointment was illegal.
The woman finally received a check for Rs. 179,078 on the very next day, Friday.
“We will now take action against the staff of the university who deliberately delayed the issuance of its dues,” he said.
According to PMDU, there has been a record increase in the number of registered members on the portal.
The monthly data released by the Prime Minister’s Performance Delivery Unit showed that 4.4 million complaints were lodged on the portal, of which 4.2 million were from within the country and 215,000 were lodged by Pakistanis abroad. ۔
The number of registered persons in PCP is 2.2 million from Punjab, 600,000 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 500,000 from Sindh.
According to statistics, 51,000 people from Balochistan and 77,000 from the capital Islamabad have registered here.
The PMDU said that 4 million complaints have been resolved so far.
According to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Pakistan Citizen Portal app was declared the second best official mobile application in the world at the World Government Summit in Dubai.
He said that earlier this week, 4,646 mobile applications of various categories were submitted by 87 countries at the summit, with Indonesia ranking first and the United States third.
Prime Minister Khan had said that the system of receiving complaints in Pakistan is unprecedented, it was not started by any Prime Minister before.
The unit has recently added a specific category of corruption to the portal complaint filing process to eliminate corruption and improve the efficiency of the bureaucracy.
The ‘Corruption’ category is further divided into six sub-categories, which include financial corruption, breach of merit and rules, abuse of power, fraud or forgery, harassment, and disqualification.
The classification of these various sub-categories has been thoroughly formulated keeping in view the nature of the complaints received on the portal.
Corruption, bribery, and embezzlement in government funds fall into the category of financial corruption, while irregularities in recruitment, procurement, and allotment process, and violation of rules are included in the category of merit and rules, as well as impartiality and authority. Has been added to the Misuse of Power section.
Activating the ‘Corruption ‘ section will not only help in filtering out unwarranted complaints but will also help in resolving the real grievances of the officers.
