A Russian court has fined Twitter for failing to remove banned content.
Russian court has ruled that immoral and illegal material from the United States is being fed into Russia. Social media platforms will have to pay a 42,000 fine for not removing banned content.
Earlier this year, heavy fines were imposed on several social media companies, including Twitter. The heavy fine, valued at about 30 million Turkish lira, was imposed by the Turkish Information and Communication Technology Authority.
The social media platforms on which the Turkish government imposed fines included Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Periscope, LinkedIn, Daily Motion and TikTok.
