KARACHI: Former batsman Javed Miandad has revealed that a revolt against Imran Khan erupted during the World Cup.
In an interview with a local TV channel, Javed Miandad said that key players were not happy with Imran Khan’s leadership style throughout the tournament. Persuaded the players to continue playing under Imran’s leadership.

Who is Javed Miandad?
Mohammad Javed Miandad is a Pakistani cricket coach, commentator, and former cricketer known for his unconventional captaincy and batting style.
ESPNcricinfo termed him as “the greatest batsman Pakistan has ever produced. Similarly, his contemporary Ian Chappell extolled him as one of the finest batsmen in cricket history.
Miandad played for Pakistan in Tests and One-Day Internationals between 1975 and 1996 and performed brilliantly. Famous for his unique technique and impressive control, Miandad has won accolades and applause from cricket historians and contemporaries personalities.
Miandad was ranked 44th among the best world cricketers of all time by the ESPN Legends of Cricket.
He has also served as a captain of the Pakistan team. He is widely known for his historic last ball big six against India in 1986 at Sharjah, when four runs were required to win, win an international game in that fashion for the first time, and contribute with the bat in the 1992 ICC World Cup.
After his playing career, Miandad has remained the coach of the Pakistan cricket team on various occasions and held key positions in the Pakistan Cricket Board. He had three coaching stints with the Pakistan national team.
